40-year-old Jordan Thomas, who harassed his ex-partner – sometimes calling her 30 times a day – has been handed a 5-year restraining order.
Thomas, of Albert Way in East Cowes, admitted harassment without violence when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court earlier this week (Tuesday 24th June).
Lauren McConnell, prosecuting, told the court that between the 28th November 2024 and 25th May 2025 bombarded his ex-partner with a barrage of calls, texts and e-mails.
The court heard how Thomas was told not to contact his ex-partner but continued to do so anyways, sometimes calling her as many as 30 times a day. Thomas’ number would be blocked only for him to change his number and contact her again.
The 40-year-old, who was last in court back in 2003, also sent the woman various gifts including chocolates, cards and flowers.
Defending Thomas, Oscar Vincent told the court that Thomas was a sufferer of PTSD following a car accident some years ago.
District Judge Calloway handed Thomas a 12-month community order with 10 rehabilitations activity days attached. Thomas was fined £300 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £114 surcharge fee.
A 5-year restraining order was also imposed.
