All 5 Isle of Wight cricket teams playing in mainland leagues beat North Island opposition on Saturday (16th July).
In Southern Premier League Division 1, Ventnor won away at 2nd-from-bottom Sparsholt. After winning the toss and electing to bat, Sparsholt reached 241 all out in 50 overs. Dineth Thimodya was the pick of the Ventnor bowlers with 2 for 33. Hugh Calloway (2/53) also picked up a brace of Sparsholt wickets.
Ventnor scored 247 in 36.2 overs for the loss of just 4 wickets. 2 batsmen – Rob Snell and Ross Whyte – both scored centuries in the Ventnor innings.

In Hampshire Division 4 (South), Ventnor 2nds comprehensively beat 2nd-from-bottom Mansbridge at Steephill.
Ventnor, electing to bat, scored a massive 362 for the loss of just 2 wickets in their 45 overs. Gary Legg top scored with 166 not out, and Neil Westhorpe was 2nd top scorer with 108.
In reply, Mansbridge were skittled out for 173 in 35.4 overs. Dominic Brihmani had the best bowling figures (3/19), followed by Jack Powell (3/29).

Ryde have moved out of the 3 relegation spots in Hampshire Division 1 by beating Hursley Park.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Hursley Park reached 235 for 5 in their 50 overs. Julion Jayerajah (2/34) had the best bowling figures for Ryde.
Ryde reached their total of 238 for the loss of just 3 wickets in 47.2 overs. Oscar Van De Casteele top scored for Ryde with 105 not out. He was supported by Benjamin Shannon (59 not out) and Ben Baker (42).

In Hampshire Division 4 (South), Ryde 2nds beat Curdridge at Harding Shute.
After being put in to bat, Ryde reached a total of 282 all out. 3 Ryde players – Daniel Attrill (74), Guy Bonnett (72), and captain Tom Roscoe (51) – all reached half-centuries in the Ryde innings.
Curdridge reached 238 for the loss of 9 wickets in their innings. Ashley Goldsmith (3/21) had the best bowling figures for Ryde, followed by Liam Ringer (3/33).

In Division 3 (South), Shanklin & Godshill beat New Milton 2nds at Westhill.
New Milton won the toss and elected to bat. Skipper Peter Wakefield gave the visitors a fine start with a patient 54. Dave Crossley 64 and Ben Morris 35 not out built upon this, as New Milton closed their innings on 232 for 5 from their 45 overs.
In reply, Shanklin lost 2 early wickets, but a 151-run partnership between James Lucy and Ben White led Shanklin to victory in 35 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Lucy was undefeated on 76 and skipper White was dismissed with victory in sight for 86.
