The Isle of Wight is winning in the fight against coronavirus COVID-19 with no new hospital deaths recorded in the past 2 weeks and no new cases since last Tuesday.
In addition to the positive news surrounding the number of deaths and new cases, it has been confirmed that a total of 47 people have now recovered from COVID-19 at St Mary’s Hospital.
The total number of cases on the Isle of Wight sits at 200, although it is still unclear if this includes all cases diagnosed in care homes.
The graph below shows how the pandemic has played out locally with the total number of cases (blue) and the total number of deaths (orange) levelling out since the middle of May.
Sadly, the number of deaths within the community – care homes, at home and at the hospice – sits at 29 as of 22nd May, with the latest figures from the Office of National Statistics set to be released tomorrow.
Any idea on how many people are currently being treated for the corona virus in St Marys.?
By ‘corona virus’ do you mean the flu? Or stabbing victims? Or those with a headache? Or those who are about to die from old age? This ‘virus’ doesn’t exist stop being so stupid.
Strangely all the doom mongers on here have gone quiet ‘Mr Justice’ and ‘none given’ where are you?. This is great news for the island and its residents and evidence of the sacrifices most of us have taken….disgraceful Mr Seely, can’t be classed as ‘most’, we shouldn’t forget this at the next election.

Perhaps before you comment like you know all the facts you should actually do some research!! Check out Bill Gates and ID20 it is no conspiracy I would prefer not to trust a man who could not keep viruses off his software and you want to trust him with vaccinating the world. The amount of scientist (who have been censored for saying this virus has RNA and DNA spliced in it which could not have happened naturally in a wet market…which then brings the question who and why.

Really? What evidence do you have that the truth is not being told? There is no benefit to anyone of the NHS Trust not revealing the official tested numbers (including the Trust itself). We have not been over-run with cases even with a so called increase in visitors and second home owners to the Island. Just remain sensible and follow the guidance. Protect yourself first against the odd idiot who doesn’t want to follow it.

Great news and it looks like we’ve made significant progress in tackling this dreadful virus. Many, many thanks to all who have played their part, making sacrifices to benefit us all including the less grateful and sceptical in our community. We’re not there yet so keep vigilant.
Perhaps when this is finally over we could erect a statue in honour of those who gave so much.

My parents friend died a week ago, she was in her 40 had cancer she tested positive for the virus. Went down hill very fast
This is great news, give it a month or so and covid 19 will be mostly forgotten. We will be back to terrorism etc a bigger threat to humanity. I assume they are furloughed at the moment
