A mainlander who crashed his car into a brick wall, whilst allegedly unfit through drugs, will stand trial next year.
45-year-old Errol Scalise, from Coventry, appeared at Isle of Wight Magistrates Court this morning (Tuesday), charged with driving whilst unfit through drugs.

On 25th January this year, as previously reported by Island Echo, Scalise crashed a black Audi Estate into a brick wall on Shide Road – between the junctions of College Road and Medina Avenue.
After being checked over by paramedics, the 45-year-old was arrested.
It is alleged that at the time of the crash that multiple drugs were found in his system, including Fentanyl and Pregablin.
At today’s hearing, Scalise pleaded not guilty to the charge and saw his case adjourned until 19th March 2026 for the trial.

How can ypu plead not guilty if the drugs are in your system and caused him to crash ??
Because he is an entitled slob and thinks he is right. Going to get a shock…
Not from any court this side of the Solent.
If he was driving under the influence he is bound to be convicted. He would therefore be better off to accept the sentence discount available for an early guilty plea. It may well be, therefore, that there is some evidential doubt or some suggestion that he was unaware of having taken the drugs (ie he had been slipped a mickey finn or a drink or food had been spiked. He is entitled to put up a defence but if convicted following trial will receive a heavier sentence.
So this idiot is saying his bad driving was not chemically assisted?
In a way that’s even worse. Not that I believe him.
Black Audi. Case closed.
100% spot on.
All Audi drivers seem to have a problem.
