A prolific thief has been fined £40 after stealing 3 milkshakes from a popular corner shop in Cowes.
Roland Tomlin, of Terminus Road in Cowes, appeared before Magistrates on the Isle of Wight, via video link from HMP Winchester, on Tuesday 29th July.
The 48-year-old admitted a single charge of theft from a shop relating to an incident at Blakes News on 20th April this year.
Prosecutor Lauren McConnell told the court that Tomlin, who has 108 offences on his record, had been identified from CCTV footage captured in the store, which showed him stealing 3 milkshakes.
As a result of this latest offending, he was recalled to prison on licence. He was released last Thursday, just 2 days after his court appearance.
Magistrates fined Roland Tomlin £40 and ordered him to pay £4.17 compensation and a £16 surcharge. He has a total of £3,221 already outstanding on his court account.
