Shanklin and Godshill have risen to 7th spot in Hampshire Division 3 (South) after an emphatic 130-run victory against previously unbeaten Verwood at Westhill on Saturday.
Shanklin managed a respectable total of 264 for the loss of 6 wickets in their 45 overs. The home side started poorly with openers Mark Ringer and Callum Wright falling cheaply, leaving Shanklin on 21-2.
A 3rd wicket partnership of 103 between Seb Egerton-Read and Harry Collier saw Shanklin reach 124-3 before Egerton-Reed was caught off the bowling of Batchelor for 36. Collier was the next wicket to fall – caught off the bowling of Arnold for 74. Ben White – batting at No. 5 – completed his half-century before Charlie Gajic made his 3rd successive catch to dismiss the Shanklin captain for 58.
Verwood could only manage 130 in reply before being skittled out with 5 overs to spare. Captain Charlie Gajic put up the most resistance, scoring exactly half a century before being caught by Callum Wright off the bowling of Moore.
Ross Le Sueur was the pick of the bowlers for Shanklin with 5-40. He was ably supported by Harry Moore (3-41).

In Southern Premier Division 1, Ventnor have fallen to 7th place after a poor batting performance against midtable Sarisbury Athletic.
After electing to bat, Ventnor put on just 127 runs before being all out in the 34th over. Zeph Wells top-scored for the Island side with a knock of just 26.
Sarisbury Athletic got past the Ventnor total for the loss of 7 wickets with 22 overs to spare. Rob Snell (2-17), Ben Attrill (2-34) and Charlie Calloway (2-19) all picked up braces of wickets for the Island side.

Ryde have fallen to 13th place in Hampshire Division 1 after a 90-run defeat at Hythe & Dibden.
The home side managed a formidable total of 300 after being put in to bat with opener Tom Gates scoring 111 before being run out by Matt Webb. Tom Durman put in an impressive bowling performance for Ryde with figures of 7-41.
Ryde reached 210 in reply before being bowled out in the 46th over. Opener Durman top-scored for Ryde with 44 with Daniel Attrill making 39 and Benjamin Shannon 38.

Ryde won the toss and chose to bat, putting on 251 in their 45 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Andy Day top scored with 77 before being clean bowled by Callum Simmonds. He was supported by Lee Hailes with an unbeaten 71 not out.
