A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of seriously assaulting a woman in Ryde last night (Friday).
As first reported by Island Echo, Police cordoned off part of Garfield Road for a time when a woman – aged in her 30s – was found injured and bleeding.
She was initially tended to by Street Pastors, ahead of the arrival of paramedics and Police.
She was conveyed by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service to St Mary’s Hospital for further assessment and treatment and has since been discharged.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that a 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the domestic-related assault.
He remains in custody on suspicion of Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent.
