37-year-old Cheryl Maitland will appear before Magistrates after she was caught drink driving in Yarmouth yesterday afternoon (Thursday).
It was just gone 15:00 when Police stopped a light blue Renault Scenic near the ferry terminal.
With suspicion that the driver may have been under the influence, officers carried out a roadside breathalyser test, and subsequently arrested the female driver on suspicion of drink driving.
The mum-of-5, of Maple Drive in Newport, was taken into custody at Newport Police Station, where she was later charged with drink driving after providing evidential breathalyser readings.
She has been bailed to appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on 1st August.

So, bet she drink drives with her kids in there too?? Another person who should now loose her licence?
Only 1 place in the world for persons who drink and drive.
Behind Bars for a very long time.
I feel sorry for the children, are they safe being with a person
who is wreckless.
Maybe the authorities should make sure the children are not
at risk.
The lady won’t be wreck-less for long if she keeps on drink driving. See what I did there, EIE?
I cannot believe in the year 2025 people
still think it is ok to drink drive.
Schools should teach Numpty’s from a young
age it is wrong.
Also more campaigns need to be shown.
It is time they educated the uneducated
Numpty motorists right from wrong!!
And have the car crushed if convicted. Banned people still drive but you can’t drive a crushed car
Good point, but it is 2025 and IW Council don’t
even own a tow truck.
On the mainland they would have vehicles towed
away and crushed.
