Over 3,000 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed on the Isle of Wight since the start of the pandemic 10 months ago.
A further 254 people have tested positive for the coronavirus, taking the total number of cases since March last year to 3,037. Some 1,258 cases have been identified this month alone.
It means that just 2.1% of the Island’s population has tested positive for the virus. Many more are suspected of having had the virus without symptoms and without a test.
Shockingly, the rate of infection per 100,000 people has shot up overnight from 687.7 to 809.8 today.
The data provided by the Government is 5 days behind, so although cases are still high it is hoped in the coming week those numbers will start to fall as the national lockdown measures reduce transmission.
The worst places on the Island for COVID-19 are Brading and Sandown, as reported by Island Echo earlier today.

Well, it is hardly a surprise that a virus that has been circulating the planet for a year is being detected in greater numbers now that a fully functioning testing regime has been devised and implemented.
The virus is here to stay, it will never, ever be eradicated. With a 99.98% survival rate, globally, you have a good chance of not even getting any symptoms.

It would seem that with a statement like “a concoction of chemicals that are largely unproven” referring to the Covid-19 vaccines, that you certainly are not basing that statement on any medical or scientific fact. Both the Lancet and the British Medical Journal have free articles that explain how the vaccines work if you wish to educate yourself more before making such unfounded claims. Also, when quoting such exact figures (99.98%) it would be helpful if you could refer to the legitiamte source of your information.

they are struggling with continued deflation in the financial system, ballooning debts and obligations and only one way out of it – inflation, which they do not seem to be able to generate sufficiently. So, look at all this cash handed out to societies globally, look at the asset inflation underway in stock markets. By generating more fear about covid, it enables the governments to happily create as much cash as they like to ensure that more money is chasing fewer goods and services, this should create the inflation they need to inflate away a lot of debt and enrich theirselves further.

You are aware that flu DOES and HAS killed people in the past, right? It’s usually about 700,000 a year globally. Just because Covid-19 is here, doesn’t mean that people weren’t dying from viruses in the past.
Seems that by the time most of us get a jab, most will have already caught this at this rate.
Rather than numbers of infected people, which could of course be greater due to more testing, the true important number is the number who go into hospital and then come out again, and of course the number left with expected life changing conditions after catching CV.
The hospital used to have around 50/50 death to survival rate, has this improved does anyone know?

well i have all the symptoms so has my wife iv been ill 8 days now my wife 3 days. try to get a home kit is imposable. We are both to ill to go out and don’t want in any way to pass this on so drive in is a no go and to be honest i don’t think im safe to drive. so i wonder how many others are like me?????????????????????

this vaccine does not prevent you from getting any virus, it does not prevent transmission, it does not cure you. All it is designed to do is hopefully reduce symptoms so that the hospital whiners aren’t too busy.

Look at the small print at the bottom of the daily figures “numbers who have died FOR ANY REASON within 28 days of a positive test. This does not mean they died of the virus, it merely means that they had the virus when they died from something else. The news also don’t like to point out that 80% of the people who get the virus will suffer no symptoms whatsoever, they won’t even know they had it! But hey, let’s all tremble…
Each of these sites, Mr Seely understood, should so far have received one delivery of 975 doses of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine. The box of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine contains 195 vials and each vial has five doses, but it has been found that doctors and nurses can get six good doses from each vial – so instead of 975 doses per box, we can get 1,150 doses per box.
In the next few days, the Island is expecting each site to receive a further 975 doses of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine, 400 doses of the Astra Zeneca vaccine along with a further box of 75 doses of Pfizer BioNTech for care homes.
After that, the Island is expected to receive only the Oxford vaccine which will make it easier to supply the Island.
