A 30-year-old woman from Binstead has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a man was attacked with a glass bottle last week. As previously reported by Island Echo, Police and paramedics were called to Sherbourne Avenue in Binstead at 18:57 on Tuesday evening (9th January). It had been reported that a man in his 40s had been assaulted with a glass bottle at the address by a person known to him. He was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. Those close to the investigation have told Island Echo that the attack did not take place at Sherbourne Avenue, despite Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary stating otherwise. As part of Police enquiries, officers soon after forced entry to an address on nearby Beatrice Close by cutting a front door to pieces. They maintained a scene guard throughout Tuesday night and into Wednesday.
Now, a 30-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the assault. Police have confirmed the woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. She remains in police custody at this time.
