35-year-old Liam Estridge – also known as Liam Smith – has been handed a 3-year prison sentence after more than £65,000 of Class A and Class B drugs were found at his Rookley home.
It was on 12th September last year that Police conducted a raid on a property at Harts Lane, off Niton Road, where officers located a significant quantity of cocaine, cannabis, cash and drugs paraphernalia, as first reported by Island Echo.
Although officers found what they were looking for at the Rookley bungalow, their suspect was nowhere to be seen. It later transpired he had fled the country on a flight to Spain upon hearing news of the raid.
It was on his return to the UK that he was arrested and taken into custody. He was charged with possession of a Class A drug with intent to supply, possession of a Class B drug with intent to supply (cannabis), possession of criminal property and driving without insurance.
It was in 2015 that Estridge, then of Ryde, was sent to prison for 32 months for very similar offences relating to the supply of Class A and Class B drugs.
As well as both cocaine and cannabis, large quantities of British Pounds (£17,170), Euros (€1,270) and Turkish Lira (₺45,180) were found at Estridge’s rented property.
Appearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing this morning (Monday), after pleading guilty to the offences back in November, Judge Michael Bowles KC handed Liam Anthony Michael Estridge a 3-year prison sentence for the drugs offences.
He will serve 2x 6-month sentences concurrently for the offences of possession of criminal property and driving without insurance.
Detective Sergeant Mick Redfern of Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has said:
“Officers conducting the warrant at Estridge’s home unearthed a substantial amount of cash and drugs which were indicative of his involvement in supply.
“The supply of drugs destroys lives – it sees vulnerable people exploited, and is often linked to serious violence including the use of weapons.
“There is no place for it on our Island, and tackling drugs supply is a priority for policing teams here.
“Seizing drugs, conducting warrants, making arrests and locking up drug dealers is all made possible because of the information you provide to us.
“We encourage members of the public to keep reporting concerns around drug dealing and suspicious activity in their neighbourhood to police. You won’t always see an immediate police response, but every piece of information you provide forms part of the intelligence picture which enables us to take action against those involved in supplying drugs.”
About time, he’s been doing this for years
Never learn, should have been thrown over to Rwanda
You seem to view Rwanda as some kind of human dustbin. It is a sovereign country and I don’t expect they would want him there considering his history.
So the wanker be out in 1.5 years then do it all again..
So he gets convicted in 2015 for the same thing, serves a bit of his 32 month sentence, gets out and starts again for another 5 years before getting caught and sentenced to 36 months when, upon completion, he will undoubtedly return to his old, but very lucrative career… justice eh? At least he has a few months to allow his investments and other bank accounts to accrue some interest.
He will be hit by POCA… proceeds of crime.. so doubt his finances will be boosted by his holiday
These are the bank accounts that should be investigated by DWP,Along with those who brag about ”I can’t afford to come off benefits”
I hope there was an application under the Proceeds of Crime Act to relieve him of a lot of money
You get the odd person saying “this guys give up this information that guys done that” 9 times out of 10 rubbish, BUT this guy liam is the perfect example of someone that is willing to throw his close friend or friends under the bus to get a little time knocked off scared of the jail singing like a canary for certain, I don’t care what anyone says no-one gets that little time for all that and phones also no proceeds of crime they didn’t even bring up his previous jail sentence for the exact same thing comical
Fucking snitch people catching 8s or 10 for less
Justice, your having’ a laugh.
