27-year-old David Berridge has been sentenced to 28 months in prison after robbing a shop in Cowes with a pair of scissors last month.
Berridge, of Cockleton Lane in Gurnard, entered Rashley’s Premier on Park Road at around midday on 2nd June and threatened a shop worker.
After making threats with a pair of scissors he helped himself to £300 cash from the till.
The 27-year-old subsequently ran and hid in a hedge on Moorgreen Road where he was then arrested by Police.
Appearing at the Isle of Wight Crown Court yesterday (Wednesday), Berridge admitted robbery and threatening a person with an offensive weapon in a public place.
He was jailed for 28 months for the robbery and was also handed a concurrent sentence of 10 months for threatening the member of staff.
