Keeping with tradition, Newport Carnival is once again the season opener with thousands expected the line the streets of the county town on Saturday 20th July. The procession will set off from South Street at 19:00. All carnivals are free to attend – but remember to get there early to secure yourself a good vantage point. Here we go again.
Unnesseccary Road Closures and poor signing by
Island Road Numpty’s
I will be glad when they are over.
Getting in the carnival spirit there Pete?
I am not against Carnivals. I usually attend the majority
of them.
It is just the unorganisation that comes with them.
They could be handled much better.
The Council and Island Roads are clueless organising them.
Does anyone remember that at the ’70s carnivals, there used to be a bloke dressed up as a female nurse who collected money for the hospitals and used a potty for the collection?
I remember this guy as a nipper, a regular on the carnival circuit. I wonder what happened to him; does anyone know?
Just say what you want to say, stop trying to be cleaver, it does not suit you. We know the point you’re trying to make. Be a man and just say it. We all know the kind of bigot you are.
Why do you report half stories to us. By this morning the chav will have been released and running about again causing more trouble le. There’s no deterrent!!! Prisons are full so much taxes are paid and we have to worry about idiots with knives!! Use your fists you pussy’s. It’s okay till someone you know goes thru it and the POLICE do nothing!!!! Almost blaming them as they can’t do their job on this island. The teens are running riot round civilians and nothing is done! Waste of reporting, waste of time! He’ll be eating Mc Donald’s by now
And… breathe
No doubt a mental health episode.
Been watching too many re-,run episodes of Minder
Ye more quality scum on the island looks to of a certain creed..
In English please?
Probably looking for who ever wrote his car off as the police do nothing about roads policing. They just wait to clear up the road then move on.
Clearly, a baseball bat is not an offensive weapon. If intention to do harm can be shown, then yes it can be an offensive weapon, but otherwise it is a piece of sporting equipment.
It was very cold last night, that would explain the balaclava! No doubt also just riding back from a baseball game.
That’s the spirit! Innocent until proven guilty.
yep that’s the isle of wight for you nice for a 2 week holiday
There’s lads riding electric bikes at 30 mph with balaclava round ride no registration ,so illegal.Nothing is done about that either,no police walking the streets these days
Saw one of these scum snorts yesterday doing wheelies in Upton Road as soon as he pulled out of Pellhurst Road
This is a real problem!
The police need to crack down on this it’s a joke!!!
They are all up to no good dealing ect ect.
It can’t be that hard to catch them.
“ect ect” oh dear Harry Potter
In the words of King Chulalongkorn: “ec tetera, ec tetera, ec tetera”
Anything more than 50 yards form Costa and the fuzz won’t respond!
Need a few ” pop up Costa’s” dotted around.
The truth is even if they managed to find them our super magistrates don’t hand out proper deterrent senctences so why bother to abide by the law or bother to catch them!
electric bikes and scooters you have to report to council as I was informed by a plastic policeman when I had a near miss when do you ever see the police walking around and them at the same time you don’t waste of money
Should have voted Reform, for your children and if you are young enough will pay one heck of a price for your naivety, and not just in monetary terms.
Too late now.
Very boring now, Get over it.
Sorry, were Reform going to do something about yobs with baseball bats ? Missed that bit.
You’ll probably find the people doing this kind of crap come from families of people who voted reform.
Reform are finished, they were finished before they
started.
Get over it, Reform lost by miles.
The cracked record returns
They caught him, well done police, we know you are probably overstretched but acted promptly here. Thank you.
If carrying a knife in a public place on the Isle of Wight isn’t a prison sentence then what is a baseball bat going to be a £2 fine?
What was he doing with it? Obviously up to no good. Things have escalated these past couple months, everything is getting out of control and no clear messages are being sent that it’s being taken seriously. Armed Forces all fly over from the mainland at a sniff of something happening but there should be more out around the streets patrolling as a deterrent. People know they can get away with anything these days. And do.
Look at the news tonight, even the police are being held to account for wrong doings against innocents. I fear for the future I really do, if we have one that is, here and for the world in general
You clearly live on a very different Island than I do. Stop trying to cause panic, however exciting you find it.
Yet another attention seeking nipper. Probably taken off the breast too early and blames everyone else for it.
At least it wernt a mussie
