2 more people have died at St Mary’s Hospital where COVID-19 has been blamed as being the cause of death, new data has revealed.
According to NHS England, the deaths both occurred on Friday (6th November). The individuals were patients at St Mary’s, Newport.
The total number of people to die from the virus since the start of the pandemic, according to their death certificate, now sits at 94. 44 of these deaths have occurred in hospital, 46 in care homes, 3 at home and 1 at the hospice.
Although 94 people are listed as dying from COVID-19 according to official records, only 76 of these had tested positive for the coronavirus.
Despite increasing deaths and a rise in the number of cases locally, just 5 people were in hospital with COVID-19 between 22nd-29th October.

Always somebody somewhere wants to blame somebody. People are quite capable of making their own decisions on being safe. Unless you are in hospital or a nursing home, it is entirely up to
you and the what risks you think are worth taking. Take responsibility.

No it isn’t because you can pass it onto others. If everyone had obeyed the rules from the beginning the virus could have gone by now. People that don’t obey the rules are selfish and don’t care about anyone but themselves!
The island is now only 3 deaths away from being in the 2nd highest group for deaths. Thank you to the ferry companies and the council and of course our ever caring tourist board (that was sarcasm by the way)

Well said people might vote you down the truth hurts
We have a much larger population of people over the age of 70 so we may have above average number of deaths although this is countered with being a more rural area. Tourism is one of the main sources of income for many people, if they went out of business the poverty will increase even more, weigh up risks Vs benefits!

Maybe because at the beginning not everyone got tested. Maybe because if you get tested to long after contracting virus it then doesn’t show on test?!
Yes …. so long after contracting the virus that you actually died of something completely unrelated.
Because they are FALSE listings …….take that small sample from the Island who actually did not have Covid-19 and multiply it by the other FALSE listings around the country and we will find a lot less people have died form COVID as the government would like us to think.

There have been MORE deaths from covid than has been recorded. Over 60,000 more people have died this year than in the previous years. This is FACT!

So….Why don’t you report ages of deaths no more huh?or….report cancer or heart attack deaths? Older folk so majoritory wont be affected so quit scaremongering every time someone dies.more chance if dying from other causes now.just keep safe decide your own fate.
