2 Christmas Day babies were welcomed into the world at St Mary’s Hospital this year, it has been announced.
First to arrive at 18:51 was Zenayah, a daughter for Shelbey Ward and Zhalin Rugg of Totland, who weighed in at 6lb 6oz.
Second to arrive as 20:28 was a son for Joanna Ogden and Chad Brevitt of Seaview, who weighed 7Ib 5oz.
He has yet to be named.
Joanna said:
”Contractions started during our Christmas dinner and we when we arrived at St. Mary’s at 5.30pm, it wasn’t long before we met our wonderful baby boy, who came before his due date. We’ll be heading home today where the Christmas food and Christmas tele we missed awaits, along with continuing our family get togethers.
“The maternity team were great, the midwives are so lovely and supportive.”
Since 2010, a total of 20 boys and 16 girls have been born on Christmas Day – plus today’s 1 boy and 1 girl
