UPDATED: DRIVER FLEES 2-CAR SMASH ON BLEAK DOWN NEARLY ROOKLEY

Emergency services have been called to a road traffic collision on Bleak Down between Rookley and Niton this evening (Monday). The crash has occurred on a bend between the junctions of Chequers Inn Road and Beacon Alley. A Mini One and a Nissan Qashqai are reported to be involved – with claims that 2 male occupants of 1 of the Mini have fled the scene. Police and paramedics are en-route to the incident, which occurred just before 17:30. UPDATE – Recovery of the vehicles has been completed. Police are continuing efforts to locate the driver of the Mini. A female in the Qashqai has been tended to by paramedics, although she is not thought to have sustained any serious injuries.
