16-YEAR-OLD CHARGED OVER ROBBERY AT EAST COWES’ CENTRAL STORE

A 16-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a robbery at Central Stores in East Cowes. It’s alleged that at around 19:50 last Wednesday (14th February), a member of staff at the premises on Well Road challenged a shoplifter. Following this, the same worker was pushed into a glass fridge door, resulting in her nose being broken. As previously reported by Island Echo, a 16-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of robbery. Now, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that the teenager has been charged with the offence. He was remanded in custody to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday (17th February), where he was then bailed to appear at Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on 28th February.
