13 teams from the Isle of Wight have battled through to the 3rd rounds of the Hampshire cups: 6 in the Trophy and 7 in the Vase.
One of those teams was Bembridge, who entertained Hampshire League side QK Southampton Reserves at Steyne Park in the 2nd round of the Hampshire Trophy.
Shem Michail opened the scoring for Bembridge in the 10th minute with a deflected shot to give the Island side a 1-0 halftime lead. Bembridge doubled their lead on the hour mark when Michael Brown neatly finished off a scoring opportunity after some great wing play by Ant Kettle. The Southampton side then pulled a goal back through an unfortunate own goal by Ben Field.
The Island side finished the game well with a 75th minute Charlie Broadbent strike from 10 yards that he fired into the corner of the goal. Bembridge made their advance to the 3rd round certain 8 minutes from full time when Ant Kettle received the ball in the penalty area, turned, then buried the ball in the back of the net.

Substitute Alex Wright then slotted home a 3rd goal for W&B (3-1) with Matt Evans scored a penalty in the 90th minute (4-1).
