35-year-old Luciano Dent has been handed a 12-month conditional discharge after admitting being in possession of a small amount of cannabis – a Class B drug.
It was shortly after midnight on 29th January this year that Police in an unmarked car stopped Dent in the Coppins Bridge area of Newport, the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court heard on Tuesday (15th February).
Ann Smout, prosecuting, told the court that officers could smell cannabis and a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a small amount of the Class B drug.
Dent, of Brambles Chine in Freshwater, told Police that he couldn’t remember where he purchased the cannabis from, but that it was only worth a few pounds.
Representing himself, Luciano said that he had just completed a 3-year stint on licence from prison and had changed his life around, stating he was disappointed to have ended up in court. He told magistrates that he was setting up a business trading currencies.
Magistrates handed the 35-year-old a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered him to pay £85 costs with a £22 surcharge.
Not exactly the crime of the century.
But on a different subject,
May I suggest that IE readers take a gander at page 8 before it disappears, I thought it was very interesting.
Quick, before it is deleated.
Only if he has parked his car and smoked a big fat one and flew home.He would not be banned from driving…
Setting up a business trading currencies? Sounds like he is going into fraud. Which you’re much less likely to get caught doing. At least he will be off the streets?
It’ll be crypto-currency trading, probably following an influencer on Tik-Tok, the guy will be a Trump fan and right-wing.
Two of the dumbest comments I’ve ever seen on this site….
