4 young players connected to Ventnor RFC were selected for Hampshire Under-20s duty, showcasing Island talent in a closely fought fixture on Sunday.
Riley Lloyd, Harry Bexton-Stone, Josh Ford and Cody Hayman all began their rugby journeys together at Vectis Youth Rugby before progressing through the age groups and into the Ventnor RFC setup.
The Hampshire side, featuring players from 6 clubs across the county, produced a strong performance but narrowly lost 22-20 in a closely contested encounter.
Ventnor’s quartet all impressed, with Josh Ford, playing at scrum half (9), awarded Man-of-the-Match for his standout display.
The selection of 4 players with Isle of Wight roots underlines the strength of the local youth rugby pathway and the continued development of emerging talent across the Island’s clubs.
