Debris from a yacht that ran aground off Bembridge yesterday (Friday) has washed ashore between Seaview and St Helens.
Bembridge RNLI last night confirmed that the 23ft yacht did not refloat at high tide as expected, but instead holed on the rocks and sunk.
Unfortunately, the vessel broke up through the night resulting in debris being washed up along the beach between Seagrove Bay and St Helens Duver.
The vessel’s owner has this afternoon managed to salvage the outboard motor and other possessions at low tide, but the boat itself is a complete loss.
HM Coastguard have attended the scene.
