UPDATED: A woman has been treated in hospital overnight after her vehicle ended up on its roof in Wootton.
Emergency services, including two appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, were called to the scene on Station Road at the junction with Park Road shortly after midnight following reports of a vehicle upside down with an occupant trapped.
Upon arrival of firefighters, it was discovered that the female driver of the overturned vehicle had already been removed from the wreckage and was receiving medical attention from paramedics.
Park Road was closed for a short time whilst the two vehicles involved were recovered.
Fire crews left the scene within 30 minutes of the turnout.
UPDATE @ 15:12 – It has been confirmed this afternoon that a 31-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicious of drink driving following this morning’s incident.
The unnamed woman, who was driving the second vehicle involved in the collision, has been bailed until June.
