Police are investigating after a woman in her 40s was assaulted at a bus stop in Sandown during the early hours of this morning (Sunday). Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary was called shortly before 01:00 to a report that a woman had been assaulted at the bus stop on Victoria Road. A cordon was erected around the bloody crime scene whilst initial enquiries were carried out. By 07:00 the cordon had been lifted. It’s been confirmed that the woman sustained a cut to her head and was taken to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment. Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. No arrests have been made.
