An Isle of Wight woman who was in possession of 8.5g of heroin when Police searched her house earlier this year has pleaded guilty to a possession charge.
Gemma Case, 45, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to 1 count of possession of a Class A drug when she appeared in front of Magistrates on Tuesday.
Ann Smout, prosecuting, told the court that on 13th January 2022 Police carried out a search of Case’s former property in Shanklin. During the search, officers found 8.5g of diamorphine (heroin) at the address.
Phones were taken and enquiries made, however, Police found that the 45-year-old had no intention of selling her supply.
The court heard that Case had spent around 8 months in custody at HMP Bronzefield in Surrey this year. This was a result of this incident as Case was recalled to prison having been released from custody on licence. The 45-year-old was originally jailed back in 2017 for 68 months for possession with intent to supply.
Defending, Oscar Vincent said that his client had been completely free of all substances since being put behind bars.
Magistrates handed Case a 12-month conditional discharge ordering her to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge fee of £22.
So they found drugs at her house, but has no fixed abode…… how does that work then. Lock her up. Damn druggies are costing us a fortune in “treatment”
