Volunteers from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust have been on board Wightlink’s car ferry St Clare over the weekend to spread the word about their activities as the region’s leading nature conservation charity.
The team set up a stand on Deck 4 and were keen to answer questions from customers travelling between Portsmouth and Fishbourne.
Gary Lawrence from Shanklin is one of the team. He says:
“We manage over 50 nature reserves for everyone’s benefit and welcome visitors who want to know more about our wonderful green spaces.”
Wightlink Chief Executive Keith Greenfield adds:
“We were delighted to welcome the Wildlife Trust onboard this weekend. Environmental matters are close to our heart as we operate England’s first ferry powered by hybrid energy – Victoria of Wight.”
