An Isle of Wight man who took secret videos of people getting changed pleaded guilty to voyeurism and indecent image charges when he appeared in front of Magistrates yesterday (Tuesday).
Andrew Taylor, 59, of Woodside Close in Northwood, pleaded guilty to 1 count of taking indecent photos of a child and 6 counts of voyeurism.
Ann Smout, prosecuting, told the court that Taylor had set up a secret camera that was taking pictures of people whilst they were getting changed. She also said that the 59-year-old had a total of 75 indecent images in his possession that he had taken himself.
He was found out when images were discovered in the deleted folder on his iPad.
In a Police interview, Taylor admitted to using the images to masturbate to but that he didn’t use the videos he’d taken for sexual gratification, the court heard.
The charges relate to incidents that occurred between 31st December 2018-18th January 2021.
Taylor’s case was committed to the Isle of Wight Crown Court for sentencing and a pre-sentence report was ordered. He was bailed unconditionally and will appear before a Judge on 22nd November.
The 59-year-old was also ordered to sign on the Sex Offenders Register at Newport Police Station within 3 days.
