Ventnor Tennis Club coach Linda Jones has made a remarkable impact on the international stage after reaching back-to-back finals at prestigious ITF Masters tournaments.
Entering her first ITF (International Tennis Federation) Masters event at Wimbledon (MT700), Linda produced an outstanding run to the final, defeating both the No. 3 and No. 1 seeds along the way. In a thrilling 3-hour battle against Katie Rowley, she fought hard before narrowly missing out, with the final score 6-0, 4-6, 6-3. The run earned her an impressive 500 world ranking points.
Just a week later, Linda carried her momentum to Devonshire Park in Eastbourne, where she again reached the final. This time she went one step further, securing the title with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 victory over Frankie Collings, adding another 700 points to her tally.
These performances have now propelled Linda to 5th in the Great Britain ITF Masters rankings — an outstanding achievement for both her and Ventnor Tennis Club.
