Red Funnel has had to cancel at least 3 of its vehicle ferry sailings today (Tuesday) due to a technical issue onboard Red Eagle. It has been announced that the 12:00 sailing from East Cowes has been cancelled, alongside the 13:30 from Southampton and the 15:00 from East Cowes. It’s unclear at this time if any further cancellations will have to be made. An issue with the Voith propulsion unit on Red Eagle has been blamed for the disruption, which comes in the same week that the hi-speed Red Jet service has been hit by breakdowns, as previously reported by Island Echo. Red Funnel apologises for any inconvenience to your journey UPDATE @ 15:33 – Red Funnel has announced that the 16:30 and 19:30 sailings from Southampton have now been cancelled, alongside the 18:00 and 21:00 from East Cowes.
