80’s reggae band UB40 have postponed their upcoming gig, which was due to take place in Ryde next month.
The group were set to play Ryde Arena on 20th June, however organisers have now announced that the event will not go ahead,
however no reason has yet been given.
Island Echo understand that the £35-a-head event has been postponed,
however no alternative date has been announced.
This is the second time that the 80s legends have been set to perform on the Isle of Wight but have not got to the stage. Last year, the flopped WOWFest event to be held in Shanklin had booked UB40, but the event failed to go ahead.
UPDATE @ 11:15 – Organisers have now announced that the postponed event will now take place on 18th September at Ryde Arena.
The postponement is being blamed on an unexpected delay in the recording of UB40s new album ‘Getting Over the Storm’.
All existing tickets remain valid, but those unable to attend the new dates can obtain full refunds from www.seetickets.com or from the venue’s box offices.
If you would like to apply for a refund from the box office, in the first instance please forward your tickets for the June date by post to the arena who will process your refund.
