A woman was taken to hospital this evening following a collision with between a motorcycle and a car in Shanklin.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the junction of Whitecross Lane, Sandy Lane and Cedar Drive shortly before 16:15 to reports of a red Vauxhall Astra colliding with a wall and a motorcycle.
Crews from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were tasked to the incident to deal with a fuel spillage from the Vulcan motorbike.
Police closed the road in both directions while the incident was cleared.
One female, a passenger in the car, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital by land ambulance with minor head injuries.
Island Echo also understands that the male bike rider has suffered a broken wrist and a fractured collarbone and was also taken to St Mary’s for treatment.
