Two persons have been hospitalised overnight after being involved in a serious road traffic collision on the outskirts of Yarmouth.
The female driver of a silver Honda Civic was taken to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport suffering from whiplash, concussion and severe bruising after a Renault Twingo ploughed into the back of the Civic at around 70mph on Halletts Shute, Norton.
The 25-year-old male driver of the second vehicle involved was arrested and taken to hospital, where it is understood he was later sedated for his and other’s safety. He remains in hospital today under observation.
Police and Ambulance crews attended the scene shortly after 02:00 hours this morning (Saturday) and left the scene at around 04:00.
This morning’s Route 3 night bus from Newport did not run as the driver was assisting Police as a witness to the incident.
