A busy main road in Ryde has been closed by Police this afternoon (Tuesday) following a two car road traffic collision near to Oakfield Primary School.
East Hill Road has been closed in both directions with traffic being diverted via West Hill Road after a Citroen C4 and a Peugeot 206 collided just after the corner at the top of the hill, which was the scene of a RTC on Thursday.
Paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service were dispatched to the scene and a 45-year-old woman was taken to St Mary’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Barletts Service Station are on the scene now (15:00) recovering the vehicles involved. It is hoped the road will re-open by 16:00 today.
UPDATE @ 15:30 – East Hill Road is expected to reopen within the next 10 minutes.
