Two people were arrested yesterday (Tuesday) following a break-in at the former Frank James Hospital in East Cowes.
At 23:35 last night, Island Echo received reports of a break-in in progress at the now derelict site on Adelaide Road.
Witnesses in the area describe seeing torches inside the building with a series of loud banging and destruction being heard.
Five Police vehicles attended the scene including the Dog Support Unit before the two unknown persons were arrested and taken to Newport Police Station for questioning.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that the historic building as suffered at the hands of vandals. Back in March this year, the Friends of Frank James’ secured fencing around the building after a similar break-in, which resulted in the front door being damaged.
