A traffic warden is understood to have been assaulted in Newport this morning (Wednesday).
Several Police units and paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service responded to St James’ Street in the town at around 10:30, where it is understood a male traffic warden was laying injured on the pavement.
Reports from Island Echo readers suggest the Council employee was assaulted, prompting medical attention.
The traffic warden has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital with head injuries.
