A technical issue has led to the cancellation of a number of Red Jet sailings this morning (Thursday), with Red Funnel’s vehicle ferry service facing its own issues.
An issue with the port generator on Red Jet 6 means that the 06:40, 07:50 and 09:00 timetabled sailings from West Cowes have all been cancelled.
It’s not a great morning for the cross-Solent operator as the 07:30 vehicle ferry from Southampton – and the 09:00 return from East Cowes – are both running with 60 minute delays.
It’s said that earlier essential maintenance has caused the delay, which is likely to affect the timetable throughout the day.
UPDATE @ 08:31 – Red Funnel advise the 09:00 vehicle ferry sailing from Southampton and the 10:30 from East Cowes will be delayed by up to 30 minutes.
UPDATE @ 11:39 – Delays of up to 2 hours are now being advised on Red Funnel’s East Cowes-Southampton route.
