10 lucky senior students from Theatretrain Isle of Wight had the trip of a lifetime last month when they travelled to New York with other Theatretrain centres from across the UK.

The students were treated to a fun-packed few days in the Big Apple, visiting landmarks, watching shows and attending workshops before entertaining hundreds of tourists at The Empire State building.

As part of the trip they attended 2 workshops on Broadway working with cast members from Beetlejuice and singing coaches, preparing them for their performance at the Empire State Building later on in the week.

All the students were part of a 30 minute set, with Isle of Wight students Millie Lake and Sophia Houghton also performing solo and Ben Thompson commended by the course director for his dancing talents.

Empire State event organiser said:

“We see many performers at this venue but this was the best performance by a young cast that we have had the pleasure of witnessing”.

Julie Caudle, Centre director for Theatretrain Isle of Wight, said:

“I was delighted to be able to accompany them on this trip that was truly an experience of a lifetime. Here at Theatretrain we are a ‘performance company’ providing singing, dance and drama classes for 4-18 year olds, and I am incredibly proud of all our students talents.
