TEEN ACCUSED OF TRYING TO KILL HER OWN GRANDMA AT SHANKLIN PROPERTY

A 14-year-old girl attempted to murder her own grandmother at an address in Shanklin, an Isle of Wight court has heard this week.

As first reported by Island Echo, a local teenager is facing a potential custodial sentence having been charged with attempted murder following an incident in The Bay last month.

Police were called to a residential address in the Shanklin area on the evening of 19th February following reports of an assault.

It has now been revealed that the grandmother was attacked with 2 guitars, resulting in head injuries. The woman was hospitalised but has since been discharged.

Following Wednesday’s appearance at the Isle of Wight Crown Court via video link, the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been remanded in a youth detention centre to appear before the Isle of Wight Crown Court on 15th March.

No pleas have been entered.

Who are you to judge? You presumably don’t know the circumstances and the perpetrator is a child. For all you know, this could be the outcome of years of abuse or may indeed be cold blooded attempted murder.

Try to be more intelligent and less of a fool.

I suspect her “grandmother” was probably only about 45 to 50 years old.

I fret the bass of her troubles is she’s highly strung, sorry if that strikes a chord.

But it’s ok for you to be judgemental about what you think older people feel?
I’m an older person and am outraged at the judgemental comments on here, including yours.

my Gran would’ve kicked me up & down the street back in the day if I’d attacked her, tbh, we don’t know the circumstances, the girl needs help, maybe a course in respecting your elders for a start
