UPDATED: Hovertravel customers are being warned that a reduced service will be in operation tomorrow (Monday).
The cross-Solent operator has announced that due to technical reasons, only 1 hovercraft will be running between Ryde and Southsea throughout Monday.
As a result of the reduced service, the 07:30, 08:00 and 08:30 crossings from Ryde and the 07:45, 08:15 and 08:45 crossings from Southsea have been cancelled.
A spokesperson for Hovertravel has said:
“The technical failure has seen our engineers working tirelessly throughout today but sadly without success of a solution. The team will continue through the evening, but sadly further assistance is required and this is only available to us tomorrow.
We are sincerely sorry for this inconvenience this will cause you”.

UPDATE MONDAY @ 09:05 – Hovertravel advise that their services are now back in normal operation.
UPDATE MONDAY @ 15:54 – A shuttle service is in operation due to continuing techical problems.
Hovertravel say further information will be released shortly.
UPDATE MONDAY @ 21:16 – A 2-craft service is set to be in operation on Tuesday, Hovertravel have confirmed.
In a statement a spokesperson has said:
“The engineering department have worked tirelessly throughout today to rectify the technical fault with Island Flyer.
We wish to apologise for any inconvenience today’s disruption caused you and thank you for your continued custom”.
UPDATE TUESDAY @ 08:19 – Hovertravel are operating a shuttle service this morning, despite previously saying a 2-craft service would be in operation.
Technical problems continue, understood to be related to Island Flyer.
