STRONG WIND HAMPERS CROSS SOLENT TRAVEL

wightlinkbadUPDATED: Disruption is being experienced on cross-Solent services this afternoon (Sunday) due to strong winds and a rough sea state.

Wightlink have confirmed their catamaran service between Ryde Pier Head is to remain suspended for the remainder of the day due to the sea conditions. A coach transfer service is in operation to transport passengers from Ryde to Fishbourne, where the company’s car ferry service remains operational.

Hovertravel services remain suspended due to the adverse conditions after being brought to a halt at 10:45 this morning.

Red Funnel’s Red Jet service was suspended for a short period, however is operating once again but with 10 minute delays between West Cowes and Southampton. The car ferry service is unaffected.

UPDATE – Hovertravel services have resumed as of 17:20.

UPDATE MONDAY – Wightlink services have resumed this morning (Monday) however the 05:15 and 06:40 sailings were cancelled due to a mechanical problem.
