Following 2 sold-out shows at their Newport venue earlier this year, Strings are bringing trance pioneer Chicane to the newly relaunched Robin Hill for a special open-air performance this September.
‘Chicane:Sunsets’ at Robin Hill Adventure Park will take place on Friday 5th September 2025.
With the track Offshore he refined cool in the dance genre and the name Chicane became synonymous with Ibiza, sunsets and quality music, an aural security blanket. Saltwater followed on and became a UK Top 5 hit.
Worldwide success was sealed with ‘Don’t Give Up’, a collaboration between Chicane and Bryan Adams from the hit album ‘Behind the Sun’. The track has reached the Number 1 spot on the UK Singles Chart. Now recognised as a dancefloor classic, it was one of the first dance collaboration tracks to reach such heights.
Chicane recently sold out the Royal Festival Hall in London with a live one-off performance of the 2023 release Far From the Maddening Crowds.
A spokesperson for Strings has said:
“The shows we did with Nick back in January were incredible and you could see from the reaction of the audience that it was a special moment. Taking the Strings brand to Robin Hill seems like the perfect setting for Chicane and we could not turn down the chance to host our first outdoor event.
“Chicane will be performing two sets throughout the evening, with the first one commencing as the sun sets – a reference to his Ibiza performance and more recently a podcast”.
The timing of the event will no doubt give Islanders a flashback to the days of Bestival and a perfect way to round off the summer.
In addition to the music, Strings will be taking their popular cocktail menu to celebrate the occasion, in what hopes to be the first of many larger events from the popular Island venue.
Tickets are now on sale at www.stringsbarandvenue.com.
Gates will open at 17:00 with food and drink available throughout the evening. Event information will be updated throughout the Summer.
