A single casualty was treated by paramedics following an emergency service response to Norris Castle in East Cowes yesterday (Sunday). Crews from Newport were called to the scene off New Barn Road at around 15:00 following reports of an ongoing incident in an outbuilding on the estate – thought to be a property used by the on-site security guard. Once on scene, firefighters used gas monitoring equipment to check the carbon monoxide levels in the farm house building. A male was treated by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, which had mobilised an ambulance and an Operational Commander to the scene. Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service stood down following the stop message at around 15:17.
