bradingshedfire_001UPDATED: A shed has been gutted by fire in the rear garden of a property in Brading this evening (Wednesday). 

Two appliances from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service – from Ryde and Sandown – and an officer were called to the scene on New Road at around 18:40 to reports of a shed well alight after a bonfire became out of control.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus have extinguished the fire, which spread to nearby shrubbery. They remain on scene damping down.

Police have also attended the scene to direct traffic past the appliances.

UPDATE @ 20:05 – Crews have now left the scene having extinguished the blaze and damped down the area.

No one has been injured.
