Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club have expressed their anger at malicious behaviour after wanton vandalism at the weekend has left a number of holes unplayable at the Fairway course.
Vandals are believed to have left the trail of destruction on Saturday night or the early hours of Sunday morning. It has been suggested on social media that motorbikes may have been ridden across the course.
The club have been assessing the cost of the vandalism after deep ruts appeared on the club’s greens and fairways. The damage is believed to be serious enough for the club to be forced to relay a green at great expense in a worst-case scenario.
Police have been informed, and cameras on the site are being checked in an attempt to find out more about how exactly the damage had been caused.
However, the club and most of its 18 holes on the course remain open this week.
No small doubt it will be rubbish from those on tax credits or similar benefits.
When people were worse off by having a child, mostly only ‘wanted’ children were born.
Now that standard of living improves if you have a child, then those who are unfit to own a goldfish, let alone raise a child are encouraged to produce such, knowing a free house, free council tax and thousand extra a year follows the ‘birth’.
But as they are not really wanted the love is not there so they turn feral.
End paying people to breed and many issues would lessen.

IV Searl speaks perfect sense. You don’t know what your talking about. So many kids these days are not being bought up correctly. They are not taught to respect anything or anyone, be that another human being or property. Parents are failing their kids because they don’t discipline them. The kids go out getting up to God knows what, the parents don’t care just aslong as they are out from under their feet so they can do whatever it is they do without the kid around.
The public and the Police are picking up the pieces. It’s just not right.
The police aren’t picking up the pieces we the community are while they sit in their nice warm cars pretending to be concerned.

Totally agree, having children is a life choice and i fail to see why the taxpayer has to fund that choice, it should not be a source of unearned income.
I think it’s more likely to be tax avoiding multi millionaires who have been caught out by HMRC!

Whilst perhaps choice of wording is questionable, the points you make are more than valid.
We need the Government to limit the funding to any producers of delinquent children so instead of feeling that a decent home and lifestyle is available no matter how the child or indeed the parents behave, it no longer is the case.
Hardship is all those with lesser intelligence can often understand. Yet they know whatever they or their offspring currently do, they will always have a decent lifestyle.
That mindset needs to change, and only Government policies can do such.

saw a group of people on electric motorcycles the other day riding on one of the fields just off of the golf course, and it’s not the first time I have seen people there, seems to be a frequent spot for the types who do this stuff, hope they get their bikes crushed.
In these changing times, perhaps the Golf Club should consider fencing so once the club is closed and the gates shut for the night, the fairways are not accessible for any type of motor vehicle?

There is no excuse for any vandalism from any social class, most kids are bought up to respect others and property.
Following insults around and blaming certains sections of society does not achieve anything unless you have the proof. It is no longer a free for all housing situation there are waitting lists that are years long, LDA’s are generally used to home family but are often very basic. No one becomes wealthy on benefits unless they have a lucative side hustle.
Like it or not people will carry on having kids because society needs to carry on and pay taxes. Those non productive may well be regarded as leeches but it is wrong to tar everyone with the same brush.
