Ryde Rowing Club welcomed sponsors and supporters to its Appley Park clubhouse on Saturday 8th February to thank them for their continued backing during a successful 2025 season.
The Annual Supporters and Sponsors function was organised by Club members Ruby and Mai Read, with support from their mother Suzy. Guests joined rowing members to reflect on a standout year for the Isle of Wight club.
During the 2025 season, the Club’s Women’s Junior Crew secured the Hants and Dorset Amateur Rowing Association Championship and were runners-up in the South Coast Championship.
The evening featured refreshments and a presentation reviewing the year’s activities and achievements, with several rowing members sharing what the club means to them.
Guest of honour Sam Woodman, Partnership Marketing Manager at Wightlink, attended alongside Martin Gulliver, Port Operations Manager.
Wightlink has sponsored Ryde Rowing Club for many years and the support has been vital in enabling the club and its growing junior section to travel to mainland events throughout the season.
In recognition of that long-standing support, Sam was presented with the Captain’s Cup by Club Captain Paddy Kearny. The award is given annually to an individual who has made a major contribution to the club.
