A group of 15 students from Ryde Academy have qualified to be part of Team England in the Dance World Cup, due to be held in Telford, Shropshire between 13th-20th August.
Children from 62 countries across the globe will be taking part in the event, which was due to be held in Spain but will now be streamed online. This will include the group of 12 to 16-year-olds extra-curricular dancers from Ryde who are hoping to bring home a medal haul for England.
Dance schools are describing this event as ‘the best quality children and youth dance competition in the world’ and the ‘Olympics of dance’.
Fundraising is underway to help the dancers on their way to this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with an aim of raising £4,000. Over £1,200 has been raised to date and Ryde Academy will also be contributing.
