Police are investigating a number of incidents around the Meadow Road and South Bank Road areas of East Cowes after the discovery of a number of cats having been shot with an air rifle weapon. Shockingly, in one instance, a cat has been shot in leg causing the leg bone to break resulting in extensive surgery needing to be carried out.
The same cat was also shot through the throat last year during another period of shootings.
Anybody with information, possible leads or anyone that has had their own pet injured in a similar fashion are asked to contact PC Olivia Peachey by phoning 101 or by emailing [email protected] Information can also be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
