Adam Clark’s missing bangle looks like this…Thieves stole the personal possessions of players – including mobile phones, wallets and car keys – at a football game between Shanklin and Ventnor Reserves at the County Ground on Green Lane yesterday afternoon (Saturday). Jewellery of sentimental value to the players – including a bangle and a ring – was also pilfered from the County Ground facilities. The valued personal possessions are believed to have been taken from the away side’s changing room at the Combination 1 fixture some time between 15:30 and 15:50. The sneak thieves may have used the Ventnor players bank cards at Tesco Express in Lake, where a Ventnor player’s car keys were found in a bin. 2 mobile phones were also found in a recycling bin between the County Ground and convenience store. Adam Clark – 1 of the Ventnor players affected by the thefts – has said:
“Unfortunately, myself and others had our wallets and phones stolen from Shanklin football ground on (Saturday 20th January). “A couple of phones were recovered about 300 yards down from the ground, roughly an hour after they had been noticed missing; they had been thrown in a recyling bin. My wallet was recovered a couple of hours later in Lake but no contents. “Cards have been frozen, so not too worried about them, but in the wallet was my driving license, and a bangle and a ring very similar to the pictures in the article. Adam Clark’s missing ring It would appear that whoever stole our stuff decided to throw it away as they walked down from the County Ground to Tescos in Lake. “Both bangle and ring have huge sentimental value and I’d be eternally grateful if this could be shared in the hope of retrieving them. Presumed to be somewhere between Shanklin and Lake, but in reality, could be anywhere by now. “A phone and wallet are also still missing.”
Shanklin FC have offered a reward to anyone able to provide information leading to the recovery of the stolen items. The football club have said:
