Fears of a fire off Ryde’s High Street have been alleviated following a search of the area by firefighters tonight (Friday).
2 appliances from Ryde were turned out at just before 22:50 following a call from a member of the public reporting a fire in the area of Warwick Street in the town.
A search of the surrounding area by fire crews has not led to any fire being located and therefore both appliances are standing down from the incident – a false alarm with good intent.
