In honour of Remembrance Sunday (8th November) and Remembrance Day (11th November), Red Funnel is offering past and present members of the UK Armed Forces free foot passenger ferry travel, across its fleet, to and from the Isle of Wight.
This offer is valid on Saturday 8th, Sunday 9th and Tuesday 11th November and can be claimed in person at Red Funnel’s ticket offices by presenting either a MOD Form 90 ID card, (including expired cards for veterans), or a UK Armed Forces Veteran ID Card.
Veterans without an ID card can also show their Veterans Rail Card or their Defence Discount Card.
Fran Collins, CEO of Red Funnel, says:
“Remembrance Day gives us a chance to come together as a nation and honour all who have served and those continuing to do so. We hold immense respect for the commitment and sacrifices made by our UK Armed Forces, and this small gesture is a token of our appreciation and gratitude.
“As a mark of respect, we will be observing a minute’s silence across all our vessels to show our appreciation for their extraordinary service.”
Alongside the free travel offer, Red Funnel is working alongside the Royal British Legion to host a Poppy Appeal – this year the charity it hoping to raise more than £50million to support members of the UK’s armed forces community. Passengers can pick up a poppy at all Red Funnel terminals until Tuesday 11th November.
