Red Funnel has confirmed it will continue to run an amended vehicle ferry timetable both today (Friday) and again on 2nd January, extending the period of disruption for customers. The changes stem from necessary repair works taking longer than expected to return Red Falcon to service. Red Kestrel, the operator’s freight vessel, is being deployed to help ease demand. Those travelling on 30th and 31st December, as well as New Year’s Day, are unaffected. Leanna Lakes, Operations Director at Red Funnel, has said:
“We sincerely apologise for the changes to our timetable as we continue to undertake the necessary works needed to return Red Falcon into service. “We appreciate how important travel is over the holidays and we thank our customers for their patience and understanding as these works are taking longer than anticipated. “Please be assured that crossings on 30th Dec as well as New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are unaffected.”
Red Funnel is contacting all impacted customers to offer new crossing times.
